The origin
Toronto-based startup Falcon (opens in a new tab) reached out to collaborate a second time. This time, they were launching a new product and wanted to meet enterprise designers. We wanted to host a higher-end dinner for them, and it was a 16-person dinner. The idea was that, since they’re launching something new, Ahmed Salah (opens in a new tab), the founder, wanted to build rapport with designers at larger companies in SF.
What I actually did
A large part of my work was guest curation and outreach. I worked with Iris to invite many different types of designers in enterprise and rocketship startups.
I also handled event production and setup, which meant managing purchase orders for the event and coordinating with Nick on logistics. I also managed the event budget, and we kept it under budget.
I also co-directed the design of the event space and hired creatives to shoot the event. I also connected with Chef Lena from within my network of chefs for this event.
